Denise Vaughn

Denise Louise Vaughn, 68, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2025. Born on December 21, 1956, Denise was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

 In her professional life, Denise spent decades in the restaurant and hospitality industry, originally working with her father, Donald S. Vaughn, Jr., at the Ye Old Ale House Restaurant and the Don Vaughn Lounge Night Club in Mechanicsburg. Her career later in life included long-tenured positions at The Left Bank and the Out Door Country Club in York prior to her retirement.

 Her life, however, was not defined by her career but instead by her relationships with the people closest to her and the endless pursuit of new adventures, which centered around the outdoors. Denise completed multiple marathons, was an avid bike rider, and spent as much time as she could in the mountains. Her favorite places to hike included Michaux State Forest and the Rocky Mountains. Denise will be remembered for her courage, strength, resilience, and fierce love and loyalty.

 Denise leaves behind her two sons, Ted and Greg, their wives, Mary Clare and Christina, and her three grandchildren, Hudson, Briggs, and Parker. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald S. Vaughn Jr., and her mother Louise M. Vaughn.

 In lieu of flowers, please take a hike in Denise’s memory, plant a tree in her honor, or make a donation in her name to the Cumberland County Boots & Hooves 4-H Equine Club.

A celebration of life for Denise will be held in October on her property in Carlisle. Details will be announced at a later date.
