Delbert Chastain

Del Chastain passed away and joined his beloved wife Rose on July 11, 2025. He was 85 years old. Del’s greatest love was his family, who were all very blessed to have him in their lives. He was always the happiest when all his family was gathered together.

Del was a career Army man who proudly served his country which consisted of two tours in Vietnam from 1968-1969 and 1971-1972. He was the recipient of several medals and accommodations including, but not limited to the Legion of Merit/Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal//Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, and the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal. He finished out his Army career at Carlisle Barracks.

Del is survived by his brother, Steve and his wife, Patti, his daughter, Patty, his son, Charles, his granddaughter and son-in-law, Jenn and Sumit, his granddaughter, Shannon, and his great grandson, Kayden.

The family invites you to join them for a homegoing service at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 21, at Hoffman’s Funeral & Cremation, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA, with full military honors following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 343 McClure’s Gap Road, Carlisle, PA. A visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 pm at the funeral home.
