David C Manoogian

May 9, 1972 — July 27, 2023

David C. Manoogian, 51, of Carlisle passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born in Washington, DC to the late David A. and Judith Clarkson Manoogian. David was the brother of William Clarkson, of Shippensburg.

After graduating from Gettysburg College, he earned his Juris Doctor law degree, later standing as a beacon of justice and advocacy practicing law for over 20 years in Maryland. Known for his unwavering commitment to upholding the law and championing the rights of the vulnerable, David earned the respect and admiration of peers and clients alike. His love for history was also evident in every conversation as he effortlessly weaved in stories of forgotten historical anecdotes, memorable leaders and pivotal moments that shaped our world. Beyond his intellectual pursuits, he found solace and camaraderie in the imaginative realm of Dungeons & Dragons.

Gathering friends around a table, dice in hand, David led valued quests that not only ignited imaginations but also forged lasting bonds between kindred spirits. His willingness to lend an ear, offer guidance and share in the triumphs and struggles of others was a testament to his compassionate spirit. Many remember him for his radiant smile and ability to find beauty in the smallest moments.

As we bid farewell to a beloved brother, storyteller, and friend, let us remember David's legacy as an invitation to never stop learning, imagining, and embarking on the forging of lasting bonds between kindred spirits of our own.

A memorial service and a time to share memories celebrating David’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Thornwald Park, 350 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
