Dale G Wickard

Dale Gilton Wickard, age 90, passed away on January 21st, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1935, in Carlisle, Dale is the son of the late James Gilton Wickard and Helen L. Wickard (Grimes), and the husband of the late Sarah J. Wickard (Albright.)

Dale is survived by his son, Dale G. Wickard II (Joyce E.), his daughter, Michele R. Rotz, his grandchildren, Swade D. Rotz, Eric J. Evans, Dale Wickard III, Brad M. Evans, Joshua R. Wickard, Tangee Wilson, and Natasha Johnson, his sister, Shirley Brooks, his brother, Gary Wickard, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Dale is preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Wickard, his sister, Joan Dietz, and his son-in-law, Carl Rotz.

Dale was born and raised in Carlisle and is a graduate of Carlisle High School. He worked as a welder and a tinsmith for the majority of his career. He also was a member of numerous clubs in the Carlisle area. He considered his grandchildren his biggest achievement. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, watching Nascar, and football. He also loved his furry friends, Foxy, Lady, and Fifi.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will take place at Westminster Cemetery, 1159 Newville Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013 following the service.
