Charity A. Dawson

Charity A. Dawson, 55, of Newville, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at her residence.

Born in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Ferguson) Specht and the wife of 26 years to Steven J. Dawson. Charity was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, class of 1987.

Charity was an avid collector of angel figurines. She enjoyed gambling, watching sports (basketball and football) and Sprint Car and NASCAR races, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, playing bingo and spending time with her family and fur babies.

In addition to her husband, Charity is survived by her children: Darian and Garrett Dawson; her siblings: Faith Nairns (Michael), Randy Specht, Terry Specht, Hope Lewis (Joseph), Scott Specht Sr. (Terri) and Brian Laird as well as her nieces and nephews: Annastasia Colister, David J. Kinslow, Tiffany Specht, Damon Freed, Brandon Freed, Derek Specht, Kaleigh Barquist, Ashley Swarey, Chelsea Bender.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Steven Specht), her nephew (Scott Specht, Jr.), her mother-in-law (Nancy Dawson) and her brother-in-law (Mark Dawson).

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
