Cecelia Aimino

Cecelia Ann Aimino, 77, of Carlisle, PA, formerly of Butler, PA, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, following a brief battle with brain cancer. She spent her final days surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Cecelia was born to the late John Campbell and Anne (Krosel) Campbell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Morris Aimino. She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Ionadi, Debbie Aimino, and Rachel (Doug) Yost; her grandchildren, Dominic & Amelia Maldonado and Margaret & Jacob Yost; her brother, David Campbell and sister, Sheila Graham.

A graduate of Duquesne University, Cecelia earned her degree in nursing and devoted much of her career to caring for mothers and babies. She worked at several hospitals and provider offices in the Pittsburgh area as a registered nurse, prenatal educator, and in supervisory positions.

Cecelia’s Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. For more than 50 years, she was an active and devoted parishioner of Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills, PA, and over the past decade, she found a new spiritual home at St. Patrick’s Church in Carlisle. She gave generously of her time and talents to both communities, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, serving as a cantor, participating on the liturgical committee, parish council, and enjoying fellowship with the seniors group.

Cecelia found joy and purpose in creating beautiful things and sharing them with others. She had a remarkable green thumb and she had a deep love of flowers and the arts. She loved cooking and baking and was an extraordinary seamstress. Over the years, she made clothing, including prom and wedding gowns and costumes for school plays and musicals. She also used her sewing talents in service to her faith, creating altar linens and decorations for her church throughout the liturgical seasons.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Thursday, September 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 18th, at 11:00 am, at St. Patrick’s Shrine, 152 East Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA. A private interment will be held in the future at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Gibsonia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Cecelia’s memory to Carolyn’s House. The dedicated staff there provided unwavering support and comfort to Cecelia during her final days and brought tremendous comfort to her family as well.
