Cathy A. Shahan

Cathy A. (Morris) Shahan, 66, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on June 19, 1959, Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jon C. Shahan (1958 – 2018), who passed away following a battle with cancer. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Bream (1938 – 2026), her father, Chester Morris Jr. (1938 – 1979), her sister, Deborah Campbell, and many loved ones who welcomed her home into eternal peace.

Cathy is survived by her loving daughters, Tabitha (Shawn) Beinhower, Heidi Dunn, Rachel Rhoads, and Rebekah Rhoads; her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Colby, Clair, Ayden, Kayli, Kayla, Bryce and Jayce; her sisters, Donna Kessler, Tammy Miller, and Bonnie Stuckey; and her brother, Steve Morris.

Our mom was a loving, caring, and giving person whose heart was always rooted in love for others. Like all of us, she had her moments, but anyone who knew her knew the kindness and compassion she carried within her. Family meant everything to her, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

In recent months, we knew she had been struggling with her health, yet her faith always remained in God. As we grieve, it is natural for our human hearts and minds to wonder what more could have been said or done. But today, we choose to hold onto peace in knowing her waiting is over. She is no longer hoping to see Jesus — she is with Him now, more alive than ever before.

So while we will miss her deeply and shed many tears, let us also cry happy tears and rejoice in her rebirth into Heaven, where there is no more pain, no more suffering, and only eternal peace.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.
