Caroline M Makibbin

Caroline Mae Makibbin, 92, of Carlisle, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Thornwald Home.

Caroline was born on February 17, 1934, in Locust Run, PA to the late Lester and Hazel (Wirt) Pry.

Caroline is survived by her daughters, Pam Brenner (Andrew) and Cathy Northcraft (Dennis), sons, Dennis Makibbin (Clare) and Thomas Makibbin, a brother, Rodney Pry (Sally) 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Roland J. Makibbin, and a sister, Lorraine Valentine.

Caroline graduated from Juniata Joint High School in the class of 1952. She was a member of the American Businesswomen of Central PA and attended the First United Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling with Roland, and together they visited 49 of the 50 United States of America. She enjoyed golfing in her younger years, cross stitching, sewing, needlepoint, and loved shopping with her daughters and granddaughter. She enjoyed hosting social events for her family as well as attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sports events and concerts. 

A visitation will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will take place at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle, PA 17013.
