Burt C. Liess

Burt C. Liess, 75, of Newville, passed away on April 2, 2026. He was born March 27, 1951, in upstate NY to the late Blanch E. (Williams) Liess and loving husband Lawrence F Liess.

After schooling, Burt enlisted in the Airforce where he proudly served his country as a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he continued working for the government and eventually retired from the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot. Burt loved camping with his late wife Trisha A. Liess and enjoying family time with his loved ones including drag racing with his son.

He is survived by his loving son Matthew Carl Liess and wife Kerri Renee (Darr) Liess, two grandchildren, Angelle Renee Liess and Payton Lilly Liess of Carlisle Pa, a stepdaughter Cindy Francisco Thorne and husband Joseph E Thorne, including two grandsons of Greenville Alabama, a sister Elisabeth (Liess) Butler, many nieces and nephews of Utica/Onedia NY and two close friends Kathy & Frank Pinko of Newville Pa. Burt was proceeded in death by his mother and father, one sister, brother and wife.

Services will be private and at the discretion of the family.
