Betty A. Zeigler, 80, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Select SpecialityHospital, Camp Hill.
Born January 2, 1933 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late P. S. and Sarah Ruth Davis Williams and the widow of Kenneth Edmund Zeigler.
Betty worked alongside her husband at the family farm. She was a member of Women’s Committee of Farm Bureau; a long term member of the Dairy Princess Promotion Committee; the farm Women #9; She was a faithful and devoted member of Hickorytown United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of Hickorytown.
Surviving are five children, Kenneth E. Zeigler, Jr. (and wife Valerie), Linda Zeigler Deitch (and husband Ralph), Anna May Zeigler, Josiah Jay Zeigler (and wife Patti), and Elmer J. Zeigler (and wife Debbie) all of Carlisle; one sister, Pauline Williams Thrush (and husband Ralph); one brother, Robert E. Williams (and wife Mary Ann); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard S. Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2013 at Hickorytown United Methodist Church, 1510 West Trindle Road, Carlisle with Rev. Iva L. O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
