Barry A. “Skip” Kleckner Jr. age 63 passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at this home in Carlisle, PA. He was born December 26, 1959 in Lewistown, PA. son of the late Barry A. and Ruth E. (Ditmer) Kleckner Sr.
Skip was raised in the Ickesburg area and graduated from West Perry HS, class of ’77. He went on to attend Williamsport Community College where he studied Auto Mechanics graduating with his Associates Degree. He then enlisted and served in the US Army before returning to the Ickesburg area.
Skip was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed many outdoor activities. He enjoyed caring for his property and farm pets. He made himself available to family, friends and neighbors assisting with any needs that came to his attention. His mechanical skills kept him busy repairing small engines and he enjoyed tinkering with many small projects. In his younger years he enjoyed dirt track racing late model cars at Port Royal Speedway with his racing buddies.
He was employed as a roofing crew leader for Houck Specialty Constructors out of Linglestown.
He will be remembered and fondly missed by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Barry is survived by his wife Pam of 26 years, his daughters Jodi, Casey, and Emily. He is also survived by his sisters Tina (Kirby), Jen (Bill), Stacey, and his brother Bob (Robin), his grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Skip’s Life will be held at a later date, scheduled by his family.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Contributions in his memory may be made to Memorial Cemetery Association of Eschol (treasurer Peg McNaughton, 259 Honeysuckle Hollow Road, New Port, Pa 17074) or to the Ickesburg Volunteer Fire Company (PO Box 126 Ickesburg Pa 17037)
