Barbara McCalister

Barbara J. McCalister, 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Messiah Village. She was the beloved wife of the late Christian L. McCalister, Jr. Barbara lived a life of kindness, faith and devotion to her family.

Born in Cumberland County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Helen (Koser) Ramp. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was employed by the Rite Aid Corporation as a clerical assistant for over 25 years. Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening, antiquing and spending time with friends and family. Barbara was a remarkable woman who gave generously to her church, her family and her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara is survived by a son, Christian, III and his wife Diane of Mt. Holly Springs; a daughter, Lisa Cornbower and her husband Wesley of Seven Valleys; a sister, Judy Ruch of Colorado; grandchildren, Melissa Andrews, Eric McCalister and Alyson Esteves; great-grandchildren, Cody Moreno, Ruben Moreno and Alexis Esteves. In addition to her parents, her husband of 62 years, Christian, sisters Dolores Scarborough and Shirley Bricker preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held on September 16, 2025 at 11am at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013.
