Arthur Sprecher

Arthur G. “Jack” Sprecher, 81, of Carlisle, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at home.

Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Galen and Helen (Gilliam) Sprecher and the husband of 46 years to Carol (Auman) Sprecher.

Jack worked in heavy construction for many years with Bear Creek Construction in Lancaster and retired as Bridge Supervisor with New Enterprise in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of the Circle of Carlisle, Carlisle Aerie #1299 Fraternal Order of Eagles and Carlisle VFW Post #477. Jack was also an original founder of the local NASCAR club of Carlisle.

Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving to be outdoors, enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and vacationing in Florida with family, caring for his rose bushes and feeding the humming birds.

Jack had the ability to make everyone laugh with his quick wit.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Jacqui Moore, her husband, Doug, of California and Barbara Dyche, her husband, Philip, of Carlisle and his five grandchildren: Britteny, David, Corbin, his wife, Theresa, Brandin, his wife, Sarah and Ethin as well as his great grandson: Josh.

Jack was preceded in death by his siblings: Glen “Nick” and Diana.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where his funeral service wil begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
