Alicia R. Shaffer, 36, of Carlisle, passed away January 6, 2026, at the Hershey Medical Center. Her husband shares some heartfelt words about her life below:
15 years ago, I started dating this wonderful girl full of life and energy. She cared about the hearts of everyone around her and rarely ever thought about herself first. Not only was she talented, intelligent, and witty, but she was the best girlfriend anyone could ever ask for. Five years later, we were getting married - Alicia was my best friend, my soulmate, and that perfect “puzzle piece,” where everything fit together perfectly. I wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with my perfect half. Throughout our 15 years together, Alicia became my rock, my foundation, and my entire world. We shared a love so deep I can’t even truly explain it.
I can’t explain how lost, devastated and heartbroken I am. Alicia was as bright as the sun in the lives of everyone she touched. She was my sunshine even on my cloudiest, stressed out, or angry days - always my sunshine. Words can’t express what I feel right now, but I want everyone to know she loved all of you so much. I showed her all the messages you were sending. Alicia cared so deeply for everyone around her, from her Pure Barre friends to the employees at Wegmans. Every time she came home, I learned something new about everyone she’d met that day. There was something magical about Alicia, and I’m so incredibly thankful for the best 15 years of my life with her.
I love you, forever, Alicia. Your husband, Jason
