William E. Sampson

William E. “Pap” Sampson, age 81, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.
He was born February 14, 1936 in Carlisle to the late William E. and Bessie Viola (Bernheisel) Sampson.
Pap retired from Cumberland Valley Roofing after many years of service as a roofer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by: his wife, Vivian Delores Sampson of Carlisle; two daughters, Tina Streck Sampson of Connecticut and Joyce A. Sampson (companion Kirk Shank) of Carlisle; two sons, David Sampson of Gardners and William E. Sampson of Carlisle; two half-sisters, Alice Wallace and Laura Cornett, both of Carlisle; six grandchildren, April White of Carlisle, Christopher W. Streck of Louisville, KY, Carrie M. Streck (husband Sean Finnerian) of Rhode Island, Yvette Sampson of Newville, Timmothy Sampson of Carlisle and Dillon Sampson of Gardners; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at The Salvation Army, 20 E. Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA with Captain Christopher Streck officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at The Salvation Army on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
