W. Eugene Enck

W. Eugene “Geneâ€Â Enck Jr., 67, of Frederick, MD, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born August 23, 1944 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Wilbur Eugene, Sr., and Anna Maye Grove Enck.
He was a 1963 graduate of the Carlisle High School and also a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College with as associate’s degree. Gene retired from PPL after 34 years of service as a distribution engineer. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Carlisle Fish and Game Commission, and the Mechanicsburg Club. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
Surviving are three sons, William Eugene Enck (and wife, Jessica) of Mechanicsburg, Brian Michael Enck (and wife, Melissa) of Mechanicsburg and Michael Joseph Enck (and wife, Nicole) of Camp Hill; two sisters, June Egolf (and husband, Kenneth) of Carlisle and Karen Crum (and husband, John) of Wilmington, DE; his six loving grandchildren, Lexis, Ryan, Mikey, Connor, Finnegan, and Lyla; and ex-wife, Karen Enck of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 East High Street, Carlisle with Rev. Charles A. Brophy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
