Veda R. Weaver

Veda R. Weaver, age 87, of Carlisle and formerly of Gardeners, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, Carlisle.
She was born May 10, 1929 in Shippensburg, PA to the late Orden M. and Edna M. Dyarman Husler and was the widow of the late Melvin E. Weaver who passed March 31, 1991.
Veda retired from the former Rea & Derick Drug Store in Carlisle as a waitress. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. She was an avid bingo player at the Carlisle Eagles.
She is survived by a son, Darryl L. Weaver of Oxnard, CA; two daughters, Sandra K. Wood of Bloserville, PA and Lisa R. (and husband John) Stare of Gardners, PA; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Melvin and Duane Weaver; and her eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
