Thomas L. Frey

Thomas L. Frey, 77, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 21, 1939 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Alfred Richard Frey and Mary Printz Frey Hemminger.
Tom was a 1957 graduate of Shippensburg High School. He was a member of Elks Lodge #578, St. Johns Lodge #260 F & AM and First United Church of Christ where he was a Deacon, Elder, Member of the Choir, sang in the chancel choir and was past treasurer. He retired after 34 years of employment at United Telephone / Sprint / Century Link and later worked in the parts department at Shaffer Trucking for 11 years. Tom enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, watching hockey, bowling, playing softball and watching Penn State Football.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia S. Frey of Carlisle; two sons, Lance Frey of Lewisberry and J.T. Frey of Carlisle; two brothers, A. Richard and Ronald E. Frey both of Shippensburg; one sister, Bonnie Bowers of Florida and his grandson, Alex Frey. He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Reeder.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the First United Church of Christ, Carlisle with the Revs. Christopher and Rachel Schwab co-officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tom to First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
