Thomas Francis Sautter, Jr.

Thomas Francis Sautter, Jr., 85, of Carlisle, formerly of West Orange, NJ, died Monday, December 6, 2010, in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Thomas was born in Orange, NJ on September 11, 1925, to Elizabeth Murphy Sautter and Thomas Francis Sautter. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Kathryn Hyer and Jane Dempsey. Thomas graduated from Orange High School in 1943. He served his country in the Marine Corps during WWII and attained the rank of Sergeant at age 19. Thomas graduated from Seton Hall University in 1950 (the first year it became a University) with a B.S. in Accounting. He worked as a sales engineer until his retirement in 1990, when he relocated to Carlisle, PA.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Natalie R. (Erickson) Sautter. He was the loving father of six children, Carole S. Hely (Daniel), Kathleen S. Thomas, Mary Beth Sautter, Thomas Francis III (Marcia), Daniel J. (deceased), and Patrice S. Del Vecchio. He has nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Thomas was a life-long member of the Elks Lodge #1154, South Orange, NJ and Elks Lodge #1590, West Orange, NJ and a Past Exalted Ruler.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday December 10, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Marsh Drive, Carlisle with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors. A viewing will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle, with a prayer service following and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
