Theresa M. Strzalkowska, 88, of Boiling Springs, PA passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at her residence.
She was born July 10, 1930 in Whites Crossing, PA the youngest daughter of the late Michael Jackovitz and Maryanna Novobilski Jackovitz.
Theresa worked as a Secretary for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC. She married Z. Karol Strzalkowski and became a military wife. She retired from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle in 1993. She enjoyed baking, gardening and going to plays at Allenberry Playhouse. Birdwatching, travelling, being active in her community, and spending time with her family and friends were her favorite pastimes.
Theresa attended Mary Queen of Peace Parish and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Zdzislaw Karol Strzalkowski of Boiling Springs, four daughters: Maria Saleen and Steve of Boise, ID, Andrea Strzalkowska of Carlisle, Stefania Strzalkowska and her husband Jim Paruk of Gorham, ME, and Regina Strzalkowska of Newark, DE, three sons: Jan Strzalkowski of Tucson AZ, Edward Strzalkowski and wife Kim Heider of Carlisle, Stas’ Strzalkowski of Boiling Springs, four grandchildren: Zachary, Rachel, Olivia and Emily, her niece Mary Plevyak and her husband Paul of Lutherville, MD, whom she dearly loved as a sister, her sister-in-law: Sophie Kikosicki and her husband Ray of East Haven, CT and many more nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, with Rev. Martin O. Moran III, as Celebrant.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle
Road, Carlisle, and from 9:00 AM until time of the Mass on Friday at the church.
Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
