Thelma Mae Weinreich

Thelma Mae Weinreich, age 80, of North Middleton Township, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born September 26, 1937 in Rheems, PA to the late B. Lehman and Luella (Lehman) Keener.
Thelma retired as a Teacher’s Assistant from the Capital Intermediate Unit. As a young girl, she spent two years in Haiti with her parents as missionaries. She loved to climb to the top of the mountain to play with the Haitian babies and children making it eventually possible for the Haitians to welcome other missionaries to their villages. Thelma loved music, especially country music, and Patsy Cline and Elvis were her favorites. She played the organ, loved teaching her students and spending time with her family.
She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, James H. Weinreich; a son, James R. Weinreich of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Susan I. (husband Donald) Brackbill of Boiling Springs and Kathy M. (husband David) Jumper of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Marty Bixler. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by: a daughter, Cindy M. Bixler; a brother, James Keener; a sister, Jolene Moore; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Weinreich.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Michael Mayer and Chaplain Bradley Moore co-officiating. Burial will follow at Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a visitation at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
