Stanley Wilson, 82, of Carlisle died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, FL.
Born February 17, 1931 in Independence, KS, he was a son of the late Virgil and Vivian Petty Wilson Kudelka.
Stanley retired from PPG Industries, Mt. Holly Springs after 40 years of service. He was a former member of Whirl-A-Ways and Penn Dixie Square Dance Clubs. Stanley spent his winters in Florida. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, bowling and golfing. Stanley was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Virginia Adams Wilson of Carlisle; two sons, Jeffrey Wilson (and wife, Coralita) of Carlisle and Darrell Wilson (and wife Michelle) of Bristol, VA; one daughter, Yvonne Wilson of Harrisburg; two half-brothers, Kurt Wilson of TX and Dennis Kudelka of Ford City; one half-sister, Marcia Willoughby (and husband, Ed) of TX; two granddaughters, Brittany Woodby (and husband, Wes) of Bristol, VA and Hannah McCracken of Missouri; two grandsons, Connor Burrows and Kevin Wilson both of Carlisle, one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Woodby of Bristol, VA; one great-grandson Cale Woodby of Bristol, VA; one aunt, Lillian Moyer of Kansas; six nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by one sister Virginia Yantos.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at First Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Road, Carlisle with Rev. Jim Abe and Rev. Marla Abe co-officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
