Stanley S. Norrell

Stanley S. Norrell, 79, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born October 23, 1935 in Carlisle to the late Henry B. Norrell and Margaret Curly Moses and was the widower of Lela Keck Norrell.
Stanley was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Lear Industries where he worked as a security guard from 1986 until 2009. He was formerly employed as a supervisor at the Ribbon Mill and as a crane operator at Frog, Switch and Co. He was a Life Member of the White Circle and Eagle Aerie #1299. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three children, Debra (and husband Sylvester) Bear of Newville, Stanley Norrell of Mt. Holly Springs and Frances McKillip of Carlisle; three grandchildren, Mindy (and husband Chris) Hurley of Newville, Robyn McKillip of Newville and Cholena Norrell of Alaska; two great-grandsons, Magarron Frey and Luke Hurley; one sister, Frances R. (and husband Marlin) Barbour of Carlisle; one brother Fredrick Moses of Branson, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Ward Moses; his step-mother, Esther Norrell; two brothers, Robert and Barry Norrell; and a sister, Cynthia Kane.
The family would like to thank Celtic Hospice and the nursing staff at Claremont Nursing & Rehab, 4th Floor and Transitions Wing for their loving care of Stanley during his stay there.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice, 200 Wilson Street, Suite 100, Carlisle, PA 17013.
