Shirley S. Hefflefinger

June 15, 1933 — October 2, 2015

Shirley S. Hefflefinger, age 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Church of God Home in Carlisle with her loving husband and her pastor, Rev. Lorenz at her side.
She was born in Newville, PA on June 15, 1933 to the late Edgar M. and Elizabeth Swartz Salisbury.
Shirley was a graduate of Newville High School, Class of 1951 and the Carlisle Commercial College. She started her working career with the former Piezo Crystal Plant and the former Reeves Hoffman Crystal Plant, both in Carlisle. She retired after many years as a bookkeeper at the M&Z Carpet Store in Carlisle. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle, its Women's Guild, a Deacon, a Treasurer and she taught Sunday School class. Shirley enjoyed reading, cooking and her grand-dogs, Cleo and Tucker, but most of all, her loving family, grandchildren and her close and special friend, Jenneane.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clark B. Hefflefinger of Carlisle; a daughter, Cathy H. (and husband Alan) Karper of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Cara and Austin Karper. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edgar Miles Salisbury and his wife, Lydia Ann.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be private.
