Sharon E. Young

March 19, 1953 — September 28, 2022

Sharon E. Young, 69, of Carlisle, passed away on September 28, 2022, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born March 19, 1953 in Carlisle to the late A. Wayne and Ethel D. (Mountz) Myers.

Sharon was retired from McCoy Electronics in Mt. Holly Springs. She also had worked part-time at Carlisle Events for many years.

Sharon adored watching her children and grandchildren play sports over the years. She enjoyed boating, camping and decorating her home for every holiday. Sharon loved being our “social media” weather girl. She made sure we all had our bread, milk and wine for upcoming snowstorms!

Sharon (or as Randy called her “Wifey”) is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Randy Young. Sharon had first met Randy when she was 9 years old. He used to ride his pony to come see her. Eventually their dating vehicle progressed from the 1 horsepower of the pony to the 300 horsepower of his infamous 1969 Chevy Camaro.

Sharon is also survived by her children: Machell McCoy and her husband, Jeffery, of Deadwood, SD; Benji Young and his girlfriend, Ina King, of Carlisle, PA; grandchildren: Dakota Baker and her husband, Daniel of Rapid City, SD; Cody McCoy of Gardners, PA; great grandchildren: Brantley and Coleson McCoy of Gardners, PA and Autumn Baker of Rapid City, SD; sister: Connie Spertzel and husband Edward of Carlisle, PA and brother: Roger Myers and his wife Debra of Keystone, SD.

Interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens at a later date. At Sharon’s request, there will not be public services.
