Seymour Salowe

Seymour Salowe died in the Cumberland Crossings Retirement Center, Carlisle, PA on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:30 PM.
Mr. Salowe was born September 22, 1924 in Mount Vernon, NY. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic College of Engineering and Steven's College, Hoboken, NJ.
Mr. Salowe retired with 42 years of service from Westinghouse Corporation as a design engineer in electro-mechanical measuring instruments. He was an Army veteran in World War II with the engineering corps.
He enjoyed his many years attending senior college classes at University of Pittsburgh and Dickinson College. Other hobbies included stained glass lamps, leather crafts and computer design.
Mr. Salowe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ella Mae "Sue" Armstrong; a daughter, Lynn Kubik with husband Steve and children Ryan and Jacob of Charles Town, West Virginia; a son, Scott Salowe with wife Lori and children Emily and Daniel of Dayton, New Jersey. He is also survived by nieces, Rhoda Miller, Pam Stein and Abbe Favocci of New York City, and cousins, Mary Ellen and Alan Harnish of Kokomo, Indiana.
A viewing will be held from 3 - 4 PM, Thursday, April 25 at the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with family present to receive friends. The Unitarian Church of Cumberland Valley will officiate a private family graveside service and burial the following day at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, PA.
Memorial contributions may be sent in his name to The Jackson Laboratory, P.O. Box 254, Bar Harbor, ME 04609-0254, and will support genetic research for preventing, treating, and curing human disease.
