Sarah W. Finnen

Sarah W. Finnen, 87 of Carlisle, died Sunday December 5, 2010 in Church of God Home, Carlisle.

Born August 26, 1923 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Frank C. and Florence H. Hockenberry Woods and the widow of Robert H. Finnen.

Mrs. Finnen was a graduate of Carlisle High School.  She was the secretary for Grace United Methodist Church for 14 years and was employed at Fickel Insurance Agency for 15 years, both in Carlisle.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Stephen Ministries.  Sarah was a member and very active in the Old Bellaire Chapter of the Eastern Star #375, Carlisle and the Rainbow Girls.

Surviving are her son, Robert L. Finnen and his wife Missy, Duncannon, a daughter, Susan C. Olson and her husband James, Carlisle, three grandchildren, Angela Shank and her husband H. David Jr., Newville, Joseph P. Madden III and his wife Stacey, Utah and Kimberly McMasters and her husband Ryan, Phoenix, AZ
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in the Grace United Methodist Church, 45 S. West St., Carlisle with the Rev. Bruce E. Fensterbush officiating.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.  There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and from 10:00 am Thursday until the time of the service in the church.  There will be an Eastern Star service at 8:00pm Wednesday.
