Sara E. "Betty" Lee

Sara E. "Betty" Lee, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 28, 1925 in Wheatland, PA to the late John Jay and Minerva Ann Stewart Kimmel and was the widow of the late Robert J. Lee.
She graduated from Hickory High School in Hermitage, PA in 1942. Betty was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother to her two girls.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda A. Banks and husband Bernie of Carlisle and Bonnie J. Reed and husband Ronald of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Rebecca Banks D'Andrea and husband Ben of Brooklyn, NY, William R. Banks and wife Rebecca of Reading, Laura Reed Gerstner and husband Josh of Holly Springs, NC and Christopher R. Reed and wife Kristin of Chambersburg and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Wray, Robert and Hugh Kimmel.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jennifer J. McKenna, Associate Pastor of Second Presbyterian Church and Rev. Kimberly Wadlington from Middle Spring Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
