Samuel Ryle Glenn

Samuel Ryle Glenn, 94, of Carlisle, PA entered into rest at his home on Monday, February 21, 2011.
He was born July 23, 1916 in Cummingstown, PA the son of the late Rev. James J. Glenn and Lutitia Goodhart Glenn.
He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1935, retired from General Motors Corporation, Baltimore, MD in 1977. He was a member of the Dickinson Presbyterian Church of Carlisle, PA and a veteran of World War II, served with the 14th Armored Division in Europe.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen R. Glenn, Sr. (and wife, Joan Michelle) of Glen Rock, PA and David C. Glenn of New Freedom, PA, two daughters, Patsy A. Trovato (and husband, Vince) of Easton, MD and Marjorie L. Gardner (and husband, Keith) of Baltimore, MD, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois (Hoch) Glenn, two brothers, Rev. James Glenn of Waverly, OH; D. Quentin Glenn, Carlisle, PA, a sister, M. Josephine Glenn of Baltimore, MD.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Jeanette Mater officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the funeral home.
