Ruth I. Jones

Ruth I. Jones, 83 of Carlisle, died Friday December 24, 2010 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
            Born January 4, 1927 in Lower Frankford Twp., Cumberland Co., the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Armeda Wickard Shughart and the widow of Paul R. Jones.
            Mrs. Jones was a longtime member of the Salem Stone United Church of Christ, Carlisle.
            Surviving are her son, Lloyd Jones and his wife Barbara, Carlisle, two daughters, Kathleen Jones, Carlisle and Loretta Fisher and her husband, Seth, Newville, six grandchildren, Lori Hankins, Rebecca McCommons, Lloyd Jones Jr., Donald Jones, Elizabeth Fisher and Aaron Fisher and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Shughart and Edgar Shughart and two sisters, Erma Baldwin and Elma Sheaffer.
            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday December 30, 2010 in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle, with the Rev. Jonathan Terry officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  There will be a viewing from 7:00 – 9:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
