Ruby E. Briggs

Ruby E. Briggs, 91, of Carlisle, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Chapel Pointe.
Born May 14, 1922 in Panama, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Maud Thompson Briggs.
She was a graduate of Hunter College, NY and received her Master's Degree in Education from New York University. She taught in the New York School System and was a member of the New York Teacher's Association. Ruby was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Carlisle and the Salvation Army. She traveled extensively around the globe throughout her life. She enjoyed photography, culinary arts, crafts, ceramic, and played the piano.
Surviving are seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Wilson, Mabel Foster and Jeanette Jordan and one brother, Alfred Briggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Henry Chapel of Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of the service.
