Roland L. Sheaffer

Drill Sergeant Roland L Sheaffer, 72 passed away September 19 at the Carlisle UPMC.

He was born December 6, 1949 to the late Roland and Dorothy Sheaffer. Roland was preceeded in death by two children: Roland Lee Sheaffer III and Ginger Lynn Sheaffer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Joyce Sheaffer, one daughter: Wendy and husband Joshua Naimi, one son: Travis and wife Heather Sheaffer, granddaughters: Ciera and husband Aaron Wiskeman and Kaylie Sheaffer-Naimi, one grandchild on the way, two great-grandchildren: Luke and Isabella Wiskeman, one sister: Debbie Sheaffer and one nephew: Chris Curry.

Roland loved spending time with his family. He served in the United States Army, and when he got out he was employed by the Carlisle Barracks. After his retirement he was employed by Saint Patrick’s school in Carlisle. He loved playing soft ball for many years.

Roland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service, with military honors, 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville.
