Robert W. Whitcomb, of Camp Hill, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg, PA.
He was born December 7, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Grover C. and Hazel (Frymyer) Whitcomb and was the widower of the late Betty H. Whitcomb who passed March 3, 2014. They had been married for 67 years.
Bob loved auto racing, hunting, fishing and working on cars. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Gun Club.
Robert is survived by two children, Robert L. Whitcomb of Carlisle and Kathy M. (and husband Dennis) Heckard of Newport; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and his companion, Betty Bitner of Camp Hill. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his five siblings.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dillsburg, PA with Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. There will not be any viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, 1701 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
