Robert F. Otto

Robert F. Otto, 82 of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday at Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
He was born January 16, 1936 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the son of the late Lewis B. Otto and Hilda M. Voss Otto. He married Louise C. Long; she preceded him in death on April 15, 2006.
Robert retired from the American National Can Company. He graduated from Northern High School, Class of 1956, where he still attended many of the class functions. He was a very active member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Carlisle, and with the Middlesex Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting, square dancing and loved gardening.
Robert is survived by his two sons: Robert F. Otto Jr. and his wife, Susan of Carlisle, Steven W. Otto and his significant other Lisa Miller of Carlisle, his daughter: Cindy L. Willhide and her husband Stephen of Carlisle, seven grandchildren: Ashley Willhide, Elizabeth “Liz” Otto, Emily Tracey and her husband Nevin, Jessica Willhide, Colton Otto, and Autumn Otto, his sisters: Florence Williams of Carlisle, Charlotte Pelton of Biglersville, PA.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers: Lewis B. Otto Jr., and Boyd Otto and a sister: Ruth Heller
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Matthew United Church of Christ, 3240 Spring Road, Carlisle, PA 17013, with Rev. Timothy Dugan, officiating.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the Church.
Burial will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
