Robert C. Moyer

Robert C. Moyer, age 70, of Carlisle, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Somerset, PA on May 17, 1944 to the late Charles H. Moyer and Ailene H. Hartzell Moyer of Carlisle.
Bob graduated from Carlisle High School, Class of 1962 and then Shippensburg University with a BA in English. He then went on to receive his Masters Degree in Public Relations from Shippensburg University. He was a teacher at Carlisle Area School District where he taught English and Journalism for over 40 years. He was very involved with Special Olympics, Area M where he served on numerous committees. He was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder and a Deacon. He was also editor of the church monthly newsletter. Bob devoted his life to his family and helping others. He will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jennifer J. McKenna officiating. There will be a light luncheon at the church following the service.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Darlene L. Knaub Moyer of Carlisle; two sons, Sean R. Moyer of Carlisle and Jason D. (and wife Samantha) Moyer of Newville; two grandchildren, Miles E. and Madeline A. Moyer; two brothers, David H. (and wife Donna) Moyer and Douglas W. (and wife Sue) Moyer, both of Carlisle.
