Robert B. Goril, 84, of Carlisle, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born April 3, 1927 in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Robert A. and Anna Pawlak Goril.
He was employed as administrator for Mental Health and Retardation Association of Cumberland and Perry County. He received a MasterÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Degree from the University of TX and a BachelorÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Degree from Georgetown University, TX. Robert was a US Navy veteran who served during WWII. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, and Knights of Columbus and a life member of the Elks BPO Lodge 578, Carlisle. He served as president for Meals on Wheels for many years. Robert loved to play poker, golf and loved cooking and eating. He cherished his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Rose Goril of Carlisle; one son, Tim Goril (and wife, Toni) of Boiling Springs; one daughter, Christine Laskin (and husband, Oscar) of Princeton, NJ; six grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Heather, Jennifer, Robert, and Garrett. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Victoria Lynn and his brother, Chester Goril.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as celebrant. Private burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, Carlisle with military honors conducted by Cumberland County Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
