Richard A. Koppenhaver, Sr.

Richard A. Koppenhaver, Sr., age 57, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 1. 1958 in Buffalo, NY to Harold A. Koppenhaver of Pennfield, PA and the late Myrtle Joanne (Shadel) Koppenhaver.
Richard worked for Presco International for 15 years and then at Lafferty Lumber for over 10 years before retiring due to health issues. He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed bowling at the Trindle Bowl, hunting and fishing and was considered an outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Witters) Koppenhaver of Mechanicsburg; children, Shannon G. Koppenhaver of Carlisle, Richard A. Koppenhaver, Jr. of Mechanicsburg and Ronald A. Koppenhaver and his companion, Crystal Osman of Mechanicsburg; sister, Diane Koppenhaver of Strinestown, PA; and brothers, Joseph Koppenhaver of Lock Haven, PA and Larry Koppenhaver of Lewisberry, PA; and three grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Gorecki and three daughters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Brian Peters officiating. Burial will be held privately at Immanuel Cemetery, Manchester, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 to help defray the funeral expenses.
