Raymond O. Thumma

Raymond O. Thumma, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born March 5, 1925 in Bloserville to the late Abraham Otis and Lovina (Leer) Thumma and was the widower of Mary Isabell (Barrick) Thumma to whom he had been married for 51 years.
Raymond retired from C. H. Masland & Sons after 44 years of service as a floor covering weaver. He formerly attended St. Mary's United Methodist Church, Bloserville and currently attended McClure's Gap Church of God. Raymond enjoyed hunting, especially groundhog and deer.
He is survived by siblings, Donald Thumma, Charlotte Dyer, Elwood Thumma, Freda Franklin, Margaret Anderson, Mary Hornberger and Betty Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Richard J. Thumma.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Robert Stauffer officiating. Burial will be a Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
