Ralph N. Ellwein

Ralph N. Ellwein, 78, of Carlisle, passed away on November 26, 2021, at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Carlisle to the late Ralph and Violet (Rank) Ellwein.
Ralph was born and raised in Carlisle and was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. After high school, he went immediately into the US Navy. Ralph enjoyed his alone time. He worked on his cars and motorcycles and loved taking rides by himself on his Harley Davidsons. Ralph loved the outdoors and always prided himself on his home’s appearance. He could often be seen working in the yard or just sitting on his porch listening to music. Ralph worked for IBM, Mechanicsburg for thirty years before his eventual retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Cheryl Y. Ellwein of Carlisle; one daughter, Beth (husband Mike) Smith of York; two stepchildren, Jennifer Schneider of Carlisle and Dennis Schneider Jr. of Florida; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway Carlisle, PA 17013.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ralph to Hospice for All Seasons, 280 S Hill Dr, Grantville, PA 17028.
