Phyllis Baker Bowman, age 90, of Carlisle, passed away Monday October 28, 2019 at Green Ridge Village.
She was born on July 9, 1929 in Lees Cross Roads, PA to the late Don H. and Margaret B. Naugle Baker and was the widow of Fred W. Bowman Jr.
Phyllis retired in July 1994, from Green Ridge Village, after 25 years of service as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, a volunteer with the Salvation Army in Carlisle, a former member of the Women’s Soroptimist International and her cats were her companions since her husband passed in 1995. Most of all, she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia Toms, Carlisle, son, Rev. David Bowman and husband, Richard, New Jersey, son-in-law, William Schlachter, Montoursville, daughter-in-law, Michele Keck, Carlisle 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Max and Lou Bowman, Wilkes Barre, PA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, D. William Bowman, daughter, Mindy Schlachter, son-in-law, Jay Toms, step-grandson, Jonathan Toms and 3 sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle with Rev. Tony Lorenz officiating. Private interment will be at Prospect Hills Cemetery, Newville. Family will receive friends from 12:30p.m. until the time of the services.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Deacons Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 2 N. Hanover Street Carlisle, PA.
