Peggy Y. Brown

Peggy Y. Brown, 79, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Chapel Pointe of Carlisle.
Born December 21, 1934 in Gardners, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Divens Yeingst and the widow of Samuel Howard Brown.
She was co-owner with her husband, Sam of the C.L. Brown & Son Rose Farm which grew roses for the Hershey Rose Gardens and other nurseries. She worked for Farm Credit as VP of Finance. She was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church, Carlisle where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, playing cards with her dear friends Dick and Louise Cook and fishing. She loved being with her grandchildren. She also loved her pets.
Surviving are two daughters, Dianne Foreman (and husband, David) of Carlisle and Susan Burkholder (and husband, Ron) of Carlisle; two sons, Lenny Brown of Harrisburg and Jeff Brown (and wife, Pam) of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Eric and Jeremy Foreman, Megan and Caitlin Brown, and Sarah Burkholder; a sister, Doris Jumper of Gardners; four brothers, Sam Yeingst of Carlisle, Robert Yeingst of Gettysburg, Harry Yeingst of Las Vegas, NV, and Roy Yeingst of Newville; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Smith, and two brothers, George and Jim Yeingst.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Chris Renner officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
