Paul T. Futch, 65, of Newville, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Northern Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Born March 21, 1948 in Forest, MS, the son of the late Laddie and Neva Hughes Futch.
Paul graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacology. He was a pharmaceutical representative with SmithKline and Solvay Pharmaceuticals with thirty-five years of service. Paul was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board Ministry, a member of the Sanctuary Choir, the Men's Chorus, and the Scholarship Committee. He was also a member of the Central Pa. Baptist Association's Laymen's Movement. Paul worked tirelessly for his church. He loved golf, bowling, and tennis.
Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Gwendolyn "Smith" Futch of Newville; three children, Derwin U. Futch (and wife, Chastity) of Lancaster, Donald Futch (and companion, Donna) of Camp Hill, and Paula Flasher (and husband, Chad) of Colonial Park; nine grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Gabrielle, Ariana, Sierra, Darius, Pierce, Amorie, and Drayton; brothers and sisters, Aubrey Futch of Annapolis, IN, Walter Futch of Annapolis, IN, Charles Futch of Annapolis, IN, Darcy Futch of Annapolis, IN, JaRuth Wilson of Forest, MS, and Frances Harrison of Annaoplis, IN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Smith, Jr., Gregory Smith, Debra Smith, Demettra Walters, Bridgett Elliot, Ronald Smith, Katonya Copeland and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Ruth and Joyce Futch and one sister-in-law, Sundra Watson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 165 Lincoln St., Carlisle with Rev. Daniel B. Keys officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be held from 11:00 – 12:30 a.m., at the church on Saturday.
