Paul D. "Barney" Barnett, 59, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA and Duncannon, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA
He was born in Punxsutawney, PA on April 19, 1955, to the late Emerson and Marie (Sowers) Barnett.
Barney was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School and retired as an EMT from the West Shore EMS. He was a Life Member and past Chief of the Elk Run Fire Company in Punxsutawney for over 30 years. He was a member of the Port Matilda Fire Company, the Boalsburg Fire Company and the West Shore EMS.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer L. Barnett of Mechanicsburg; a brother, Leonard (and wife Mechele) Barnett of Punxsutawney; a sister, Anna Barnett of Fort Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews and was preceded by a brother, Gary Barnett.
Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Eric L. Funk. Private interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, PA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company, 219 Elk Run Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 or to the New Kingstown Volunteer Fire Company, 277 N. Locust Point Road, New Kingstown, PA 17072
