Nils P. Ficalora

Nils P. Ficalora, age 71, of Carlisle passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born May 5, 1945 in Carlisle to Hope (Myers) Ficalora of Carlisle and the late Frank Ficalora.
Mr. Ficalora honorably served our country in the United States Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. He was employed by and retired from PENNDOT in Cumberland County as an equipment operator and trainer. He was a member of the FOE Aerie # 1299 of Carlisle. He loved NASCAR, fishing, the outdoors and spent many summers at his home at the beach in Indian River, DE.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Stambaugh) Ficalora of Carlisle; a daughter, Valarie (and husband Robert) O'Connor of Royersford; mother-in-law, Ruth J. Stambaugh of Newville; three grandchildren, Taylor A. O'Connor, Andrew R. O'Connor and Savannah O'Connor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert B. (and wife Beth) Stambaugh, Jr. of Newville, Bonnie J. (and husband Ray) Snyder of Carlisle, Alan J. (and wife LuAnn) Stambaugh of Newville, Kimberly S. (and husband Kevin) Sanderson of Carlisle and Randy L. Rakers of Carlisle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Nils was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Betty L. Rakers.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA. The family will receive visitors from 6:30 until the time of the services and ask that visitors dress casually.
