Mildred V. Cornman

Mildred V. (Wert) Cornman, 98 years of age, of Carlisle died on Friday, September 27, 2019 in Chapel Pointe at Carlisle. She was born March 13, 1921 in Lower Frankford Twp. Carlisle, PA to the late Elmer B. and Mary Catherine Henry Wert and was the widow of Morrell E. Cornman.
Mildred retired from C.H. Masland after 19 years of employment. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher there at the church. She was a member of the Farm Women’s Group Five and the Mt. Rock Gang. Mildred loved flower gardening, quilting, painting and the time she spent with her loving family.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann Gibson, Carlisle, two sons, Robert Lee Deitch and wife Barb of Carlisle, Terry Eugene Deitch and wife Lucy of Newville, one step-daughter Clover Haycock, Shippensburg; one sister, Mary Brownewell of Newville, Ten Grandchildren; Twenty-one Great Grandchildren and Nineteen Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George H. Wert, three sisters; Evelyn Liberator, Beatrice Fraker, Lillie Negley and a granddaughter, Tracey Gibson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle with the Reverend William E. Pipp officiating. Interment will be held in the Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution’s in Mildred’s name may be made to the Chapel Pointe at Carlisle 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
