Mildred C. Baty, 93, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born November 30, 1920 in Enid, OK, a daughter of the late Robert S. and Rose Ann Abling Clayton and the widow of Loren A. Baty.
She worked at the Carlisle Garment Factory as a bookkeeper and later retired from McCoy Electronics. Mildred was a member of Carlisle Church of Christ Church.
Surviving are one son, Gerald R. Baty of Buffalo, NY; two daughters, Carolyn Baty Witmer of Carlisle and Janet L. Baty; one sister, Virginia Nicholas (and husband, Irwin) of Midwest City, OK; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also sisters-in-law, Linda Smith of Shippensburg, Mary Spangler of Carlisle, Edna Yinger of Franklin, TN and also two brothers-in-law, Roy Spangler, William Heiser, both of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward V. Clayton
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at Carlisle Church of Christ, 971 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Also from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
