Mercedes L. Mcmillin

Mercedes L. McMillin, age 92, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Fairfax Nursing Center.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 14, 1923 to the late Lawrence A. and Lorine Kunkle Heckler and was the widow of the late John C. McMillin.
Mercedes was a 1940 graduate of the Mt. Mercy Academy and was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, PA. She has been a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by three daughters, Marianne M. (and husband David) Eavenson of Carlisle and Diane M. (and husband Robert) Eavenson of Fairfax, VA and Sally M. (and husband Lee) Stone of Annandale, VA; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Mack, Dorothy Getz and Patricia Hamilton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA with the Rev. Don H. Bender officiating. Burial will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042.
