May Kitzmiller Riddlesberger, 100, of Carlisle died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her home.
Born May 1, 1913 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Samuel McKee and Millicent Line Kitzmiller and the widow of Dr. Merchline Riddlesberger, DDS.
She was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, Class of 1932 and attended Cornell University and the University of Maryland. May was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. May belonged to the Cumberland County Historical Society and the former Carlisle Hospital Auxiliary. May also enjoyed musical arts. She was very active and enjoyed sports and being in the outdoors.
Surviving are three sons, Samuel Merchline Riddlesberger (and wife, Joan) of Spokane, WA, Dr. Merchline Mills Riddlesberger, Jr. (and wife, Phyllis) of Charlotte, NC, and John Henry Riddlesberger of Mt. Holly Springs; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also a daughter-in-law, Roberta Fornwalt (and her husband, Charles). She was preceded in death by her son, James Mills Riddlesberger and her sister, Gladys Flohr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 East High Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lisa Leber officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
