Mary Phyllis Shaffer

Mary Phyllis (Heller) Shaffer, age 93 of Newville, passed away October 14, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family.
Born April 1, 1927 in Newville to the late David C. and Blanche E. (Miller) Heller.
Mary was a seamstress at the Newville Dress Factory and Masland’s Carpet Company. She was a former member of the Newville First Church of God and loved sewing, cooking and baking.
Mary is survived by her husband, Charles A. Shaffer Sr., with whom she celebrated 74 years of marriage on September 17, 2020; she has 2 daughters, Connie (David) Bender, Newville and Carla (Ron) Evans, Mt Wolf, PA and son, Charles A. (Nancy) Shaffer Jr, Mechanicsburg. She is also survived by 4 grandsons, Steven Bender; Michael Bender; Eric Evans and Aaron Evans; 6 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Ryder Evans; Brianna Bender, Connor and Katlyn Evans and Luke Kurtz and 2 sisters, Frances Jean Feeser and Helen Fisher.
At Mary’s request, there will be no viewing. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
