Mary L. Buchenauer, 64, of Carlisle, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.
Born August 16, 1950 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. and Nettie R. Wolf Baum.
She was employed as a part of the cafeteria staff from the Carlisle School District. Mary was a special care giver for the Mentally Challenged at Human Achievements Programs, Inc. of Mechanicsburg. She was a graduate of the Carlisle High School, Class of 1969. She enjoyed "shopping till you drop", crafts and craft shows. She enjoyed the time with her grandchildren. She was known as the "Monitor of the Neighborhood".
Surviving are her husband, Peter J. Buchenauer, Jr. of Carlisle, who had been married for forty-five years; one son, Michael L. Buchenauer (finance, Renee Hess) of Carlisle; one daughter, Carrie A. Lebo (husband, Jason) of Carlisle; one brother, Arthur J. Baum of Carlisle; and three grandchildren; Tyler and Makayla Buchenauer and Braelyn Lebo and one step-grandson, Mark Hess, Jr. She was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Christopher A. Seiff.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Dr. Richard E. Dennison, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private at Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
